AIA National Investors Conference 2018

Synchronicity:
Identifying opportunities in a world growing in sync.......

2018 Conference

I

Sunday 29th July - Wednesday 1st August 2018
Surfers Paradise Marriott Resort and Spa

For the first time in over a decade, the world’s major economies are growing in sync.

The world is awash in cash mainly as a result of lingering low-interest-rate stimulus from central banks and the gradual fading of crises that over years ricocheted from the US to Greece, Brazil and beyond.

For the first time since 2007 all 45 countries tracked by the OEDC are on track to grow in 2018.

What does a world that is structurally awash in capital look like—and what will it mean for investors?

The most immediate effect has been to paralyse, confuse and distort our investment decisions. Low interest rates and cheap money are creating dangerous pockets of excess capital in many places.

To navigate the shifting currents of global growth in a time of capital superabundance will require investors to recalibrate their expectations, acquire new skills for spotting opportunities, and exercise enormous investment discipline.

Our 2018 National Conference is aimed at providing the skills and knowledge to identify new investment opportunities in a world that carries enormous opportunity but also new emerging risks.

To ensure you obtain new ideas and opportunities for managing your portfolio in a world awash with cash, enrol to attend the AIA National Conference 2018.

Our 2017 conference was widely hailed as by far the best investing conference in the country.  We were complimented on the impressive line-up of topics, speakers and the event overall.  This year is shaping up to outdo our 2017 event.

Program

The conference commences at 5pm Sunday 29th July with an Economic Outlook keynote presentation

Sessions continue Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday, finishing at 3:45pm on Wednesday 1st August, followed by happy hour.

  • The income stream will focus on interest rates, income stocks, hybrids, annuities, bonds and other fixed income.

  • The Growth theme will aim to identify growth themes, growth sectors and growth stocks. Speakers have been asked to present actionable stock ideas in their talks and hold their content over until the conference.

  • The Alternative Investments stream will present some alternative asset classes like portfolio management, researching stocks, asset allocation and technical analysis.

  • The Superannuation stream will look at strategies, estate planning, aged care and longevity risk.

  • The Strategy stream will include an element of Stock Market education as well global opportunities and stock picks.

We have some of the top fund managers, economists, analysts and commentators presenting this year and over and above the requirement to dazzle, our speakers have been asked to present specific stock and investment recommendations that our Members can action. You will have to be at the Conference to get to the head of the pack.

SUNDAY WORKSHOP

Sunday Afternoon Conference Workshop
DATE: 29 July 2018 TIME: 1.00 – 4.30pm

Bitcoin, Batteries and Pot...Investing in the hot sectors of the market.

This workshop is designed to educate you on the changing investment landscape and show you the opportunities and risks of these emerging asset classes.

You do not have to be a member to attend this workshop, some
members may like to invite their children or grandchildren to
encourage better financial literacy.

The Workshop will cover:

Bitcoin: This digital currency taking over society uses encryption techniques to regulate the generation of units of currency and verify the transfer of funds whilst operating independently of a bank. Easy? Well if you attend this session you will learn how cryptocurrencies work, what is blockchain and also the opportunities and risks of the different currencies available.

Batteries: Investment experts say Australia is fast becoming an attractive destination for large-scale batteries and renewable investment, which should ultimately bring down the costs of gas and electricity for households. The question is, how do you get exposure to this sector which is gaining momentum every day. Tom King, CIO of Nanuk Asset Management, will explain the sector and the best way to include it in your portfolio if you decide you would like to invest.

Pot: Who would have thought you would be attending an investment workshop under the title of pot? Well it is actually referred to as Hemp or Cannabis these days. James Vosper, CEO of the Hemp Exchange will explain this rapidly expanding industry. Hemp has been used for thousands of years as food, for materials and as medicine. Hemp fell out of favour in the 1930’s due to law changes in the US that expanded to other countries. Hemp has had a recent resurgence and is now a multi-billion dollar crop and is well on its’ way to becoming a trillion dollar crop as it is being embraced for its’ versatility and environmental benefits. Now is the perfect time to enter this burgeoning industry.

Registration: Members can book online.
