John Abernethy
John Abernethy is an Executive Director and the Chief Investment Officer at Clime Asset Management. John has 25 years' experience in funds management and corporate advisory services including 10 years at NRMA Investments as the head of equities, where he earned the title ‘Fund Manager of the Year’. John is the Chairman of Clime Capital Ltd (ASX:CAM) and holds a number of non-executive directorships. He is a vocal advocate of investors’ rights.


Mike Anderson
Mike Anderson has fifteen years experience in the financial services and real estate industries. Beginning his career in Queensland Mike initially worked as a business analyst before moving into finance broking and property investment. Becoming accredited as a Financial Planner and holding a real estate agents licence, Mike is able to provide better insight into the risks undertaken by investors along with the more effective structures to invest within. He plays a significant role in the identification of investment corridors based upon the research undertaken within the business. Mike has been with Silverhall since 1999 and is a major shareholder of the company.


Louise BedfordLouise Bedford
As well as being a sharetrader for nearly 20 years, and having degrees in Psychology and Business, Louise Bedford has done the hard yards in the sharemarket. Her trading strategies are practical and timesaving and applicable to both short-term and long-term traders. Louise has written a number of sharetrading books including Trading Secrets, Charting Secrets, The Secret of Candlestick Charting and The Secret of Writing Options.


Warren Boothman
Warren Boothman has worked in the property funds management industry for nearly 20 years, with small and large property funds management groups including Deutsche Bank and AXA. He has been actively involved in the management of a range of listed and unlisted property funds as well as property securities funds. Warren has extensive experience in presenting to retail clients at a wide range of industry forums focusing on property markets and assessing the relative merits of different types of property investments.


Robin Bowerman
Prior to joining Vanguard, Robin Bowerman had a distinguished career in the media industry and was a leading financial services writer, commentator and editor for over 15 years. As Head of Vanguard’s retail operations Robin has overseen the considerable growth in Vanguard’ retail business and is responsible for Vanguard's retail sales, marketing and product development efforts.


Graeme Colley
Graeme Colley has over 25 years experience in the superannuation industry. He was an Assistant Commissioner of the Insurance and Superannuation Commission and until 2001 he was responsible for coordinating superannuation litigation within the ATO. He is Vice Chairman of the Self Managed Super Fund Professionals’ Association of Australia.


Elio D’Amato
Elio D’Amato was appointed Chief Executive Officer of Lincoln Indicators in 2007 and is responsible for driving the strategic direction and positioning of Lincoln’s business. Elio is also the company’s primary educator, regularly presenting to Lincoln’s clients and at investment industry events and seminars around Australia. Elio is a sought-after media writer and market commentator on the ABC’s Lateline Business and Sky Business programs Market Moves and Your Money Your Call and presents in a style which is informative, relevant and highly engaging.


Bill Dodd
Bill Dodd was an academic in science for 25 years. His discipline was the plant biotechnology of tropical plant species, working mainly with plantation crops in southern and south-eastern Asia. He resigned from university life 15 years ago to become a private investor/ trader and manages the family self managed super fund. Bill has been a member since 1999 and joined the AIA Council in October 2008. He is a member of the Education & Research Committee and facilitator for the AIA’s 6 week share investing course.


Andrew Doherty
Andrew Doherty is head of equity research for Morningstar Australasia, jointly with Peter Warnes. Andrew joined Aspect Huntley in 1999, which was acquired by Morningstar in 2006. Before joining Aspect Huntley, he worked in London for investment banks Deutsche Morgan Grenfell and JP Morgan and in Sydney for Credit Suisse Asset Management.


Jody Elliss
Jody Elliss is a stock market analysts and author. Jody is licensed broker and financial planner who can deal in securities, derivatives, futures, foreign exchange and CFD’s.  Jody has no retail clients as he is an active trader. He is currently Head of Research and CEO of the Investor Centre.
 


Matt Gaden
Matt Gaden joined Challenger in 2003 as Head of Institutional Business and has been the General Manager of Distribution since November 2006. Matt has over 17 years experience in the funds management industry, primarily in retail and institutional business development roles. He has extensive experience in funds management distribution in retail and institutional markets both domestically and globally.


Neil Godwin
Neil Godwin retired at age 44, is a private trader and personal trading mentor. He has been trading in the stock markets for over 25 years. His experience spans several bull and bear market cycles using CFD's, shares, options and index futures. Some of those years were very severe with extreme market shocks, and he survived, which is a testament to the robustness of his trading plan.


Daniel Goulding
A client adviser with RBS Morgans, Daniel Goulding is currently undertaking post graduate studies through the University of Queensland. He has contributed towards an upcoming book “German Hyperinflation 1922/1923 – A Law and Economics Approach.” Daniel has a strong background in technical analysis, with a particular interest in the Elliott Wave Principle.


John Grant
John Grant was appointed Managing Director of Data#3 in 1996 to lead the process of its public listing on the ASX in 1997. John commenced his career as an engineer and moved into the IT industry in 1980 when he joined IBM’s General Systems Division. Since the listing he has led the company’s expansion and development through six acquisitions; a transition from a Queensland centric private company to a significant national public ICT solutions company with revenues in the last financial year of over $360M and to record profits over the past 5 years.


Cameron Hall
Cameron Hall is the Managing Director and founder of Smith & Hall. With over 17 years of expertise in small, medium and large businesses and qualified with a Bachelor of Business (Economics) and a Master of Business Administration, Cameron directs the thorough analysis required in this unique approach to the art business.


Nick Harris
Nick Harris joined RBS Morgans in 2006 and is a Senior Analyst specialising in the Technology and Telecommunications sectors. Having graduated with an IT degree Nick commenced his career working within the IT sector and moved across to the financial side in 2004.


David HindeDavid Hinde
David Hinde is the CEO of Orchard Funds Limited and is responsible for overseeing all aspects of the organisation’s strategic development, capital raising and core operations. Prior to joining Orchard, David was Managing Director of the funds management division of Becton Property Group. He has also held management positions at MCS Property (now CentroMCS) and Lend Lease. David has over 17 years’ experience in funds management.


Stacey HoltStacey Holt
Prior to establishing her own business, Stacey Holt Real Estate Excellence, in January 2010, Stacey had 8 years in agency practice in regional Queensland, followed by 2 years in a franchise corporate role. Stacey then spent six years in a corporate role for the Real Estate Institute of Queensland. Stacey has been a speaker at many conferences, authored regular monthly articles for a Real Estate Journal and has written and presented numerous real estate training programs.


Alan HullAlan Hull
Alan Hull is a second generation share trader, fund manager, businessman, writer, mathematician and IT expert. He is the author of Blue Chip Investing – the business of making money on the Australian Stockmarket and Active Investing – a complete answer, both by Wrightbooks. Alan has also managed tens of millions of dollars of other people's retirement funds, his performance beating all the major ASX market averages.


Craig JamesCraig James
Craig James became chief economist of Colonial Group in September 1997, before becoming chief economist at CommSec in August 2000 with the Commonwealth takeover of Colonial. In 2002 Craig had a sea-change, joining the Australian Financial Review. He had always wanted to pursue a role in journalism and enjoyed the role as an economic commentator and analyst but rejoined the group in 2003. Craig currently does around 2-3 regular TV crosses a day, ad hoc radio and newspaper interviews and writes regular commentaries as well as presenting to staff, clients and external organisations. He has worked in banking, finance & journalism for 30 years.


Steve KeenSteve Keen
Steve Keen is Associate Professor of Economics & Finance at the University of Western Sydney and is a fellow of the Centre for Policy Development. Author of the best-selling book Debunking Economics, he differs from the norm for critics of conventional economics by being highly mathematical in his own research. His main research interest is in developing mathematical models of Hyman Minsky’s Financial Instability Hypothesis. Ty Laird
Ty Laird is a Private Client Adviser with Macquarie Private Wealth and is based in the Broadbeach office. Ty joined Macquarie in 2006 and has more than seven years experience in the financial services industry. He specialises in providing advice on Australian equity portfolios through direct investment and derivatives strategies.


Julia Lee
Julia Lee is the Head Media Presenter at Bell Direct, providing financial commentary to SKY news, SKY Business Channel, CNBC, ABC and on the internet. Julia has over eight years of financial markets experience, and before joining Bell Direct was Head of Fundamental Analysis for a leading sharemarket educator as well as running Investor Education for a major Australian bank. Julia is a regular contributor to industry publications such as “Wealth Creator”, “IFA” and “Money Management” and a frequent presenter.


Stephen Mayne
Stephen Mayne is a journalist and the founder of www.crikey.com.au as well as the publisher of www.maynereport.com, a website dedicated to improving corporate governance. As Australia’s best know shareholder activist, he has run for 30 public company in an attempt to create a stronger culture of shareholder pressure. He is also a regular business commentator on ABC radio.


Scott McKenzie
Scott McKenzie is a part-time Financial Planner and has been a Councillor of the AIA since 1999. After accepting early retirement from the Queensland public sector he retrained as a financial planner. Scott is the Vice President of the AIA, chairs the Media Committee, coordinates the Brisbane Managed Funds discussion group and takes an active interest in investor education.


Ray Milton
REIQ regional manager, former president and life member Ray Milton is a highly-respected industry expert with a passion for problem-solving and conflict resolution. Ray began his career in real estate in 1970 at Surfers Paradise on the Gold Coast, and later opened two branch offices at Mermaid Beach and Southport. He later served as the Gold Coast Branch President of the REIQ for three years before being elected to the State Board of Directors in 1981. Ray held a position on the REIQ Board for 24 years – including four years as president – and was made a life member in 2005.


Roger Montgomery
Roger Montgomery is a value investor and the founder of a group of Sydney-based funds management businesses which he sold in 2006. He is also the founder and former Chairman of an investment company he listed on the ASX in February 2004. Having resigned in 2009, he now focuses on his private investments and has written an investment guide book which is expected to be released in late March. Roger is a prominent and highly-regarded investment commentator and Alan Kohler described him as "one of this nations smartest and most successful value investors".


Jonathan Morgan
Jonathan Morgan has been with the Australian Securities Exchange since 2000 and has held a number of roles predominantly within the operations side of the business. Prior to joining ASX, Jonathan spent a number of years within the superannuation industry. In his current role, as a Business Development Manager, Jonathan works with customers spanning both retail and institutional on the development and promotion of LICs.


Tim Nelson
Tim Nelson is the Head of Carbon and Sustainability at AGL Energy. Tim is responsible for sustainability strategy and carbon research within AGL. His research is used for financial modelling related to energy asset development and acquisitions as well as management of AGL’s direct carbon position. Tim was previously employed by the NSW state government and coordinated the development of the NSW Energy Directions Green Paper and was also involved with the NSW Greenhouse Gas Abatement Scheme.


Jamie Nemtsas
Jamie is a Co-owner and director of a fee for service, independent financial planning firm, Lachlan Partners and has been working in the financial planning industry for over 15 years. He is a Certified Financial Planner, a Fellow of the Securities Institute, has a degree in Banking and Finance and is also a co-author of the book You don’t have to be Rich to Become Wealthy.


Brad Newcombe
Prior to joining FIIG Brad Newcombe worked as an investment analyst with subscription research firm The Intelligent Investor. He has extensive experience in the finance industry having worked in the Westpac Treasury Department and as an insolvency accountant at WHK Horwath and the Australian Securities and Investments Commission.


Colin Nicholson
Colin Nicholson has taught both fundamental and technical analysis for the Financial Services Institute of Australasia (FINSIA). He is a past president and life member of the Australian Technical Analysts Association. Colin has written five books: Building Wealth in the Stock Market, The Aggressive Investor, The Psychology of Investing, Hot Stocks 2007 and Hot Stocks 2008.  He has written for a number of publications including the Australian Financial Review, AFR Smart Investor (previously Shares) magazine and BRW. Colin is totally independent and does not sell anything other than his writing and teaching.


Marcus Padley
Marcus Padley is the author of the Marcus Today Daily Stockmarket newsletter and recently launched his first book Stock Market Secrets. Best known for his appearances on the ABC TV and Radio as well as for his “tell it as it is” weekly articles about the stockmarket in The Age, the Sydney Morning Herald and the West Australian Marcus is also a stockbroker and has been advising institutional clients and a private client base for over 27 years. Marcus has numerous degrees and a Prize winner in Applied Portfolio Management. Born a Yorkshireman, he emigrated to Melbourne in 1994 as the souvenir of his Australian wife Emma's visit to London.


Jonathan Pain
Jonathan Pain is a Director of JP Consulting NSW Pty Ltd and author and publisher of The Pain Report. He has 25 years of international investment experience including Chief Investment Strategist of HFA asset management, Chief Investment Officer of Rothschild Australia Asset Management, Head of Investments at Gulf International Bank in Bahrain and Chair of the International Asset Allocation Committee at Paribas Asset Management in London. He is well known for his contrarian views and is a regular speaker at investment conferences and seminars.


Justine Pollard
Justine Pollard is a private Australian stock market trader, trading mentor and author of “Smart Trading Plans.” Justine’s experience of the stock market started off as a hobby 18 years ago and became a full time career in 2000. Justine now offers a range of training courses and programs based around trading trends and using strict money management rules to let profits run and cut losses short. Justine’s career background included marketing and business management and in recent times a teacher of technical analysis at Manly Warringah Evening College and other similar institutions.


Rachael Rofe
Rachael Rofe is a lawyer with a background in Commercial Law. She joined Dixon Advisory in 2005 and leads the Estate Planning Service in Melbourne. Rachael specialises in tax minimisation solutions and has a particular interest in asset protection strategies for clients with complex familial arrangements. She also provides in-house educational training to lawyers, accountants, business and finance executives in relation to estate planning. 


Mark Simpson
As Head of Research at Patersons Securities Limited Mark Simpson leads a team of 24 research analysts who are recognised specialists in mid-cap industrial and resource stocks. Mark’s team received the Best Research House of the Year award at the 2007 Australian Stockbroker Awards. Mark has over 20 years experience in equity research and has worked in the Australian, Asian and the UK/European markets. Prior to joining Patersons in Perth, Mark spent 13 years in Hong Kong and worked for Deutsche Bank and Macquarie as both an equity analyst and as a country manager and market strategist.


Petrina Stamos
Since 2003, Petrina Stamos has been employed as a Senior Accountant at Snelleman Tom Consulting Accountants. In this role, she is responsible for the compliance and wealth creation consulting advice in relation to a wide variety of clients. This includes all entity types, such as fixed and discretionary trusts, companies, partnership, individual and self managed superannuation funds.


Jim Taig
Jim Taig is the Managing Director and founder of Seismo Australia Pty Ltd, a company which provides trading software and recommendations for investors and traders. Jim was formerly CEO and majority shareholder of a premier recording and CD mastering studio in Sydney. Since exiting the music industry in 1999 Jim has been a professional trader and investor and has had extensive experience in the Australian market, trading and investing using shares, options and Direct Market Access CFDs. Jim is an expert on CFDs and their applications to both investing and trading and is often quoted in leading financial publications.


Phillip Whiteley
Phillip Whiteley has over 18 years financial services experience. He is certified member of the Financial Planning Association of Australia, a member of the Personal Finance Society (UK) and a graduate member of the Australia Institute of Company Directors. He has extensive experience in self managed super funds in Australia and their equivalent in the UK.  He also has specialist knowledge of UK pension transfers and appeared at the Commonwealth of Australia senate enquiry into overseas superannuation transfers to Australia.
