The author is a tutor of his trade, lecturing business groups and Real Estate agents with his experiences he has gained over many years.
The book has been designed and has been written as a reference guide to assist and educate the buyers and sellers of property. It gives a clever insight into some of the difficult situations that can arise in property and business transactions and clauses are drawn up to cover the particular situation.
Many unwary buyers of property or business could save a lot of time, money and heartache by seeking knowledge form this book, eg; it deals with issues of licences, management rights and off the plan purchases.
The book covers many facets of property and business purchases, sales, licences, the pitfalls that exist or may be overlooked by the unwary, disguised in legal jargon, glossy promotional literature and the excitement of a new venture.
The structure of the book is very well laid out with an excellent content section, listing chapters with all sub titles appropriately page numbered for quick references without having to read the full chapter.
The text is varied, defining the actual clauses from the topic being read.
As highlighted by the author, many of the clauses are set in Queensland Law, but may be very similar in other states. It would be advisable to use references in this book as a guide (although a very comprehensive guide) and that you seek your own legal interpretations for your particular state and local government by-laws.
The short quotations throughout the book are very fitting and say a great deal in only a few words, eg; "Money isn't everything, but it is right up there with oxygen".
For the "first time investor", the book may appear daunting with such an array of clauses. It is not a book that the average investor would purchase as a (must have) for their investment library. It is not a book on how to become wealthy but it is a book that could save you a lot of money.
