Watch your assets – Janine Cox (Wealth Within)

Prior to the GFC many felt they were better off leaving investment decisions to someone wise and educated. Now, in the wake of the heavy losses, more are looking for control and a better way to build and protect their wealth. In this thought provoking session Janine Cox will share her knowledge on simple strategies that will show you how to protect downside risk and ensure you never get caught in another GFC or share market crash. It takes a long time to build wealth and only one GFC to wreck it, but armed with the right knowledge and skill it need not be so.

Two experienced investors, Graeme Bottrill and Brian Spies will each outline how they use spreadsheets to track and manage their investment portfolios. Insights from benchmarking – Doug Turek (Professional Wealth)

Managing a portfolio without benchmarking is like driving a car without a speedometer. Family wealth adviser Dr Douglas Turek will explain how investors should go about critically evaluating the performance of their investments and those who help them invest (fund managers, stock brokers, planners). Doug will also share learnings and common patterns observed from years of detailed portfolio analysis. He will also suggest how you should be able to beat the benchmark while reducing risk through more careful portfolio construction.
